The Mendenhall School of Auctioneering was
founded in 1962 by Col. Forrest Mendenhall and his brother, who retired from the
auction school in 1971. In 1975 Col. Forrest Mendenhall built an entirely new
facility specially designed for an auction school, complete in every
detail. In 1978 an additional classroom of 4,000 square feet was
built, making the facility more complete. In 1985 a 7,200 square-foot
Auction Gallery was added for student training, bringing the total
facility to over 17,000 square feet. A new audio-visual system with
camera and monitor has also been installed. Interested students will
also have an opportunity to see the "inside" operation of a
modern auto auction, which Forrest built in 1991, located at the rear
of the school's property.

Col. Forrest Mendenhall has been a full-time
professional auctioneer since 1953. He has conducted auctions of most all types
throughout the Eastern United States including real estate, livestock,
automobiles, antiques, machinery, etc. He has devoted his entire adult life to
the Auction Profession and its improvement. Col. Mendenhall was inducted into the National
Auctioneers Hall of Fame in 1995.

| In addition to
running Mendenhall School of Auctioneering, Col. Forrest Mendenhall's auction business
handles business liquidations, real estate, and estate auctions. He
operates a public auction about once a month out of the in-house
Auction Gallery located on the school's property. And he owns the Mendenhall Auto Auction,
which his son, Wayne Mendenhall, manages. It currently operates weekly, every Tuesday night and Saturday morning.
